• NAPE believes that primary education is the most critical phase of every child's life.

• NAPE believes that primary education is a partnership of all those involved with the school community. This partnership must be valued and fostered.

• NAPE believes that good practice must be  developed, disseminated and celebrated.

Policy Statements

NAPE strives to achieve its aims through the following key policies.

• Primary Education must be funded on an equal basis to all other phases, according to agreed and educationally sound criteria.

• The education of every child must be properly resourced and staffed.

• Parents must have full and up to date information about all aspects of their child's schooling and the opportunity to be actively involved.

• Research must be regularly initiated, professionally conducted, critically examined and widely disseminated before final and firm conclusions are reached.
