The 'Headteacher Update' publication reflects on the Schools 'fury' over the so-called, '2025 Ofsted Inspection model. Infact the National Education Union actually says that the 'New Ofsted inspection framework will be bad for schools, the workforce and for parents and students'. Facebook groups representing teachers, headteachers and all seem to think that it is 'more of the same'.
Schools Week summed up the present unacceptable situation. 'Ofsted has failed to grasp the opportunity to deal with the deep problems in the inspection system. They have not taken on board the concerns of the profession or drawn on their expertise to develop a better alternative. They have failed to listen and reform'.
This 'failure to listen' has been probed deeply by Schools Week. It found that Ofsted refuses to share the data it collected from the feedback it received from individuals, organisations and schools. ' Ofsted is refusing to publish data showing how many people support its new report card inspections, despite pledging transparency over the high-profile reforms'. So the simple question is, did Ofsted take any notice of our feedback?
I will be posting this on BlueSky so please post your comments there.
