An article in 'Headteacher Update' reports the Oxford School of Thought's proposal for a primary school inspection model set against a backdrop of disquiet expressed by a survey carried out by the Headteacher's Association, the NAHT and the teacher's Union, the NEU (Beyond Ofsted - an inquiry into the future of school inspection). All articles are well worth a read.
With September looming, with the announcement of Ofsted's new model of inspection, those involved in all aspects and age groups of education are not convinced that the promised radical shake-up of Ofsted inspections is going to occur.
As the Headteacher Update article states, one of the key radical changes that Ofsted needs to make is: 'move towards a developmental and collaborative model, Ofsted could shift away from punitive oversight with an approach that encourages continuous improvement'.
September is going to be an interesting month.....
